EXCLUSIVE: Arshad Warsi reveals why Munna Bhai 3 is much needed; says “I think we might just do the third”

Arshad Warsi is a well-known Bollywood actor who has impressed in a variety of films including the Munna Bhai, Golmaal and Dhamaal franchises, Jolly LLB, Ishqiya, Dedh Ishqiya and more. The actor – who will soon be seen on the big screen playing the titular character in Bandaa Singh Chaudhary, recently sat with Bollywood Bubble for an exclusive chat about life, films and the future.

During the exclusive chat, Arshad Warsi also opened up about Munna Bhai 3 and why the third instalment is much needed. In the earlier Munna Bhai films, Warsi essayed the role of Circuit, Munna’s (Sanjay Dutt) much-loved sidekick.

Talking about Munna Bhai 3, Arshad Warsi said, “I think that is also a possibility. The last time we sat together, there was a little meeting that Raju called for with Abhijat (co-writer Abhijat Joshi), Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) and me to decide what to do and all. We had a good discussion and he had three brilliant scripts. So Raju is pretty keen on doing a third film.”

Talking about why another instalment is needed, the actor said, “I feel he should (make another part) because we were generally talking and I said, ‘Everything you start needs a closure and these two characters also need a closure. If you don’t, then they are dangling and everybody’s wondering what happened.'” He concluded by stating, “So I think we might just do the third.”

Arshad Warsi upcoming projects

Talking about his other upcoming projects – the actor said, “The problem is one can’t even say what is next till we are given that permission (by the makers).” However, he continued, “But I think there are a few things I can say. Mami will release one of the films that I’ve done a small bit in it – it’s called Ghamasaan. Tigmanshu Dhulia has directed this and it’s pretty interesting.”

He continued, “There’s a film called Bhagwat – which is produced by Harman Baweja. Jolly 3 is going to come with Akshay (Kumar) and me; Subhash is directing me around April. That film is fun, Akshay is insane; I love him, he’s completely a madman. I really like working with him. And then there are others I can’t mention about.”

However, Arshad further added, “And of course Dhamaal. I’m shooting for Dhamaal (the fourth film in the franchise) and Welcome to the Jungle”
